Ada Sunrise Rotary purchased and help to fund installation of an outdoor bottle filling station at the Ada Homeless Services Day Center, giving guests reliable access to cold, clean water during this summer's brutal Oklahoma heat.
When temperatures climb into the triple digits, access to cold, clean water isn't a convenience, it's a necessity. That's exactly the need Ada Sunrise Rotary set out to meet this summer with a new outdoor bottle filling station at the Ada Homeless Services Day Center.
The station is simple to use and built to last. It's vandal-resistant, requires no electrical power, and meets ADA accessibility standards, making it a low-maintenance, high-impact addition that will keep serving the community for years to come.
This project is a great example of what our Community Service committees are all about: identifying a real, immediate need in Pontotoc County and stepping up to meet it. During an Oklahoma summer where heat-related illness is a genuine danger for anyone without reliable access to water and shade, this small piece of infrastructure makes a lasting difference for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
