Ada Sunrise Rotary welcomed nationally recognized Holocaust historian Dr. Rebecca Erbelding as the Friday program speaker, coinciding with the opening of the Americans and the Holocaust exhibit at the Ada Public Library.
On December 5, 2025, Ada Sunrise Rotary welcomed Dr. Rebecca Erbelding, a historian at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and a consultant for Ken Burns's documentary The U.S. and the Holocaust, as the featured program speaker. Dr. Erbelding was visiting Ada for the opening of the Americans and the Holocaust traveling exhibit at the Ada Public Library, and she shared her research and perspective on the American response to the Holocaust with club members and guests.
The Americans and the Holocaust is a traveling exhibition developed by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum that examines the choices and experiences of Americans during the Holocaust era. Its presence in Ada was a significant cultural moment for the community, and Dr. Erbelding's visit made the club's December 5 meeting one of the most memorable of the year.
Members also used that morning's meeting to prepare student dictionaries for upcoming deliveries to area third graders, a fitting pairing of historical reflection and forward-looking investment in education.
