Ada Sunrise Rotary completed Phase 2 of the Wintersmith Arboretum project this morning, installing and planting raised garden beds to expand our pollinator habitat at Wintersmith Park.
Wintersmith Park Arboretum just got a little more beautiful, and a lot more pollinator-friendly.
This morning, Ada Sunrise Rotary completed Phase 2 of our Wintersmith Arboretum project, installing and planting raised garden beds to expand our pollinator habitat. These plants support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators that are essential to a healthy local ecosystem. Every garden like this helps bring that balance back to our community.
A huge thank you to Bob Greenstreet for leading this project from start to finish, procuring the beds, selecting the plants, and coordinating with the City of Ada Parks and Recreation.
Dwight O'Dell assembled the beds himself and hauled the soil amendments in his pickup. Kody Ross Stewart made short work of moving everything from Ada Veterinary Clinic by showing up with a front loader. And Danielle O'Daniel made sure the crew had a snack after all that hard work.
Eight Rotarians were on-site this morning digging in, mixing soil, planting, mulching, and watering: Bob Greenstreet, Dwight O'Dell, Danielle O'Daniel, Christen Smith, Chase Roberson, Sara Trower, Susie Jiru, and Kevin Butler.
