About Ada Sunrise Rotary:
Service, Friendship, and Community Since 1992

Welcome! We are the Rotary Club of Ada Sunrise, a diverse group of friends, leaders, and professionals dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. While our club was founded in 1992 and is proudly affiliated with Rotary International, we are not your typical service organization. We believe that serving our community should be joyful, energetic, and done with friends.

Curious about how we operate? Our bylaws are a great place to start!

More Than Just a Meeting

Our motto is "Service Above Self," but our method is friendship and fellowship. We meet every Friday morning to start our day with a shared purpose, but it’s anything but a stuffy meeting.

What is a Friday morning with us really like?

  • It’s Inspiring: We start with "Words of Wisdom," where members share quotes and advice to get the day started on the right foot.
  • It’s Celebratory: Have good news? Step up for a "Bell-Ringer!" For a small donation to help end Polio, you can ring the club bell and share your personal or professional victories with friends who are genuinely happy for you.
  • It’s a Little Silly: Don't be surprised when we break out into our "Friday Song"—a goofy tradition celebrating our favorite day of the week, complete with high-fives and jazz hands. It’s impossible not to smile.
  • It’s Fascinating: We stay connected to the heartbeat of Ada through weekly programs. One week you might be learning about honeybee farming; the next, you'll hear from a member about their journey to becoming a veterinarian or a Grammy voter.

Our People: A Cross-Section of Ada

Our greatest strength is our members. We are veterinary doctors, college professors, lawyers, IT professionals, small business owners, realtors, dentists, dedicated retirees, and so much more. We have folks from a variety of age groups. This diversity makes us a powerful network of colleagues and friends who bring a wealth of experience and a shared passion for Ada.

Our Impact: People of Action

We are known for rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. When there is a need in Ada, our members are ready to respond.

Responsive When Ada Needs Us Most: Recent Tornado Relief (April-May 2025) When recent tornadoes struck our community, our club immediately took action by cleaning up dangerous glass on Main Street, volunteering for debris removal with United Way, and providing direct financial assistance to a resident who lost their home.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Pontotoc County

For decades, we have been proud to serve Ada through our signature projects. These ongoing programs are the bedrock of our community service.

Fireball Classic & Back to School Basics: Our annual July 4th race raises funds to provide backpacks and essential school supplies to over 1,000 students in the Pontotoc County area.
Paper Donations to Local Schools: Supporting Our Teachers: Sunrise Rotary Stocks Paper Supplies for Ada Classrooms
Bark in The Park:  Ada Sunrise Rotary hosted "Bark in the Park," A Free Dog Clinic for Pets of the Homeless on October 26, 2024
Little Libraries: We foster a love of reading with our "Take a Book / Leave a Book" libraries located at Mama T's and in Glenwood Park.
Supporting ECU Glass Recycling Program: We are committed to environmental stewardship through our community-wide recycling initiatives.

Annual Veterans Program: We take pride in formally honoring and supporting the men and women who have served our country.

One of our members recently said, "The meeting is always a great way to start the day because it leaves me thinking of things bigger than myself and my own personal struggles... It is a breath of fresh air. I have wondered, ‘Why did I wait so long to join?’"

If this sounds like the kind of club you’ve been looking for, we invite you to learn more about becoming a member.
